Our Team

Our Hospitalist Staff
Your Hospitalist is responsible for directing your care while you are in the hospital.  Your Hospitalist, as the coordinator for your treatment while in the hospital, should be consulted if you have questions about your illness.  The Hospitalist team consists of a physician and APRN seeing patients within the hospital throughout the daytime hours and a physician (Nocturnist) working with patients overnight.
The Nursing Staff

A team of Professional Registered Nurses and Licensed Nursing Assistants provide 24 hour nursing care. There are Nurse Managers, a Director of Inpatient Care and/or a Clinical Inpatient Manager responsible for directing and coordinating that nursing care on all direct patient care unit(s). Please feel free to contact your RN, the Charge RN, and/or the Director or Manager with any questions or concerns.
Pastoral Services

We believe that holistic patient care demands attention to the spiritual, as well as the physical and emotional needs of each patient.  Your priest, minister or rabbi is always welcome to visit you while you are here.  You, a family member or a significant other may request assistance from the nursing staff to contact a specific pastor during the time you are admitted with us.
Dietitian

Springfield Hospital maintains a registered dietitian on staff to meet your dietary needs during your stay. If you have questions about your meals or diet, please call extension 7670.
Social Worker and Case Management

Springfield Hospital employs a Social Worker and two RN Case Managers trained to help patients and family members deal with financial, social and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization.  Members of the department work with patients and families to help deal with long-term illnesses and rehabilitation and are involved in discharge planning.
Housekeepers

A member of the housekeeping staff cleans your room daily. If there is a housekeeping problem in your room, please tell your nurse and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.
Volunteers

Volunteers contribute many hours of service and financial assistance to the hospital. They supplement the services of the hospital staff in many ways and can be identified by their name badge.
Other Ancillary Personnel

During your stay, many other health care professionals, including personnel from the Laboratory and Radiology Departments and Physical or Occupational Therapists, may visit you.  In addition, the Springfield Hospital interdisciplinary team includes many behind-the-scenes staff such as accountants, engineers, secretaries, food service personnel and other staff whom contribute greatly toward your well-being while you are here.
